Welcome to Linocat, a blog of minor poetry and crafts considerations and an archive of poems and stuff made by Debbie Yee. I was inspired to spruce up a previous blog and name it after a linocut print of a contemporary Japanese Lucky Cat illustration I created at a printmaking workshop at 3 Fish Studios in Dogpatch, San Francisco in the summer 2009.
I write poetry and am an avid supporter of the nonprofit literary and arts community, arts enthusiast and crafts explorer. My poems appear or are forthcoming in anthologies and literary reviews in print and online, including The Best American Poetry 2009, 32 Poems and Fence. I am a Kundiman fellow and graduate of U.C. Berkeley and U.C. Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). I currently serve on the board of Asian Culinary Forum. I live in San Francisco with my husband and a Biscuit, where I am an in-house lawyer for a national bank and occasionally teach writing and crafts classes.
